Ensayo #5 is Hans Neumann’s fifth chapter from his Ensayo series, which started as a collection of portrait collages in 2018. For this new chapter, Neumann presents us with a piece of video art, accompanied by a photobook.
In this new Ensayo, Neumann combines the different strands he’s developed in the previous four chapters to create a video-poem featuring Tariq Allen, a New York trumpet player who embarks on a quest to unpack the myth of Icarus, after which Ensayo #5 is named.
